Hi Folks!
It’s been a huge, whirlwind year for the Geelong Comic & Toy scene.
It started with a humble effort to bring more choice of comics into Geelong with the Geelong Comic Book Fair back in March. We were able to cover costs, allow some physical marketing and managed to get a good number of passionate Geelong fans clamoring in. It was enough to push us to go again! This time with a little rebranding. In October we expanded the name to include Toys and thus was created the Geelong Comic & Toy Fair! We’re not just comics, we’re more than that, and the new name allowed for a more broader understanding on what is on offer.
We increased our advertising reach, we built up more of a social media presence and brought in more vendors. The response from the public was HUGE! It’s clear we have a thriving, enthusiastic community here and I’m so incredibly excited to grow this Fair and allow us all an event we can call our own.
Next year? We go bigger and better!
The Geelong City Council have come to the party and provided a Grant to assist with the growth and more engagement. This means there will be a THIRD Comic & Toy Fair here in Geelong in 2025! Keep an eye out for the next one on APRIL 13, another in (most likely) July and another around October / November.
We’ll soon have a website up and running, more physical marketing around town and in local media.
