A whirlwind year for the Geelong Comic & Toy scene.

It’s been a huge, whirlwind year for the Geelong Comic & Toy scene. It started with a humble effort to bring more choice of comics into Geelong with the Geelong Comic Book Fair back in March. We were able to cover costs, allow some physical marketing and managed to get a good number of passionate Geelong fans clamoring in. It was enough to push us to go again! This time with a little rebranding. In October we expanded the name to include Toys and thus was created the Geelong Comic & Toy Fair! We’re not just comics, we’re more than that, and the new name allowed for a more broader understanding on what is on offer.

Happy Sherlock Holmes Day!

Created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1887, he success as a character was immediate and profound. Arguably one of, if not the best, fictional character in literature. If you don’t mind cracking into some prose, you can’t go wrong with those early Sherlock Holmes adventures. And if you have yet to watch the Robert Downey Jr. movies, hunt them down. Lots of fun. There’s plenty of Sherlock Holmes in comics out there as well, most recently from Dark Horse and IDW. It’s elementary, dear Watson.

GEELONG COMIC & TOY FAIR! Sunday, October 13 “Comic AND Toy Fair” you say??! Yes, we have altered the fair name to better honestly represent what we offer at our Fair. Our sellers primarily have a strong representation of comics and toys and we want the community to have a clearer understanding of what we have on offer. At a glance, hopefully people would know to expect not only Comics and Toys but Trading Cards, Funko Pops, Books, Video games, DVDs, art, hot wheels and a whole lot more.
